Biographical Note:

Patricia Hertel (U Basel, Switzerland) is research assistant at the Department for History. She gained her PhD in Freiburg and was lecturer at the University Luzern (Switzerland). From 2015 to 2017, Dr. Hertel holds a scholarship of the Swiss National Science Fond and is as guest researcher at the King's College London (UK), the Deutschen Historischen Institut London (UK), the Universidad Complutense in Madrid (Spain) and the Universitat de València (Spain).

Martin Baumeister is professor for European history of the 19th and 20th century at the LMU Munich (Germany). Since October 2012, he is director of the Deutschen Historischen Institut (DHI) in Rom (Italy).

Roberto Sala (U Basel, Switzerland) is coordinator of the Basel Graduate School of History (BGSH) and research assistant at the Department for History. In the last years he was already lecturing at the University of Erfurt (Germany), der University of Potsdam (Germany), the Humboldt University Berlin (Germany) and as guest researcher at the Sciences Po Lille (France).
